Peter Cocks at The Old Buoy
Set back from the iconic 'White Cliffs of Dover' where Kent's North Downs drop into the English Channel, Folkestone is a South East England coastal town that attracts a wealth of ex-Londoners who want the cultural vibrancy without the sprawl, the pollution, and the sky-high prices. With streets that are bursting with color, a thriving creative community, and a wealth of options for arts, and entertainment, it's easy to see why Peter Cocks ended up here.

With nearly two decades working in live children's television in the revered Saturday morning slot, where creativity and chaos regularly collide in the quest to keep kids entertained (one of the show's he starred in was called Ministry of Mayhem), Peter is at home around colorful characters. These days, rather than writing for Basil Brush or causing hilarious havoc in front of the camera, alongside his cabaret and other creative ventures, Peter is to be found serving up mussels, chips, and Belgian beef stew to the discerning clientele of his local The Old Buoy, an authentic Belgian bar set up by his good friend Thierry.
I think my style has changed very little since I was about 18. I've always dressed quite traditionally, but I've always liked buying classic hard-wearing clothes; quality pieces that don't go out of fashion.

A fan of classic American and French workwear, such as drill jeans and denim coats, Peter also has a penchant for accessories – especially hats and scarves, admitting to being “a Truman Capote-level scarf fan”. Having drawn on many sources and influences over the years, he would struggle to put a name to or concisely define his style, thinking of it as generally quite plain and minimal, featuring lots of navy blue, black and gray, with the occasional foray into more “loud” items.

"Here Peter wears a pair of Peter Christian Drill Jeans in stone, with Classic Desert Boots: “I really like suede desert boots because they're forgiving on the feet for the older gent! Saves you wearing 'Claire Rayners' – or trainers.” Above the waist we have a cobalt blue safari-style Linen Overshirt over a lead gray 100% Italian Merino Turtleneck. “It feels really good.” To set off the outfit in true Peter fashion, a red Birkin Spotted Silk Scarf and Haydock Fur Felt Hat in tan. Cheers, Peter. Now then, I think it's time we checked out those mussels and a Belgian beer…

See my review of the brick drill jeans.
If Heineken made jeans
An excellent article. The only drawback is the speed of fading when laundered.

Very happy with the product
The hat is excellent. It is a trifle tight though it Is the size I requested because you did not have the exact size I need. I shall try to slightly expand the brim. But I like it very much.
Exactly what I wanted.
